On Linux or other CLI tools, get your IP as plain text: curl manoip.com — force family with curl -4 manoip.com or curl -6 manoip.com (HTTPS also works).

More about IP addresses
What is an IP address?
An IP address (Internet Protocol address) uniquely identifies a device on a network so data can be routed to the right destination — similar to a street address for a house.
IPv4 vs IPv6
IPv4 uses 32-bit addresses (~4.3 billion). IPv6 uses 128-bit addresses and is designed for the modern Internet with vastly more address space, improved routing, and better support for mobile and IoT devices.
Geolocation and ISP
IP geolocation estimates country, region, city, and coordinates. It also reveals the ISP and ASN that announce the address. Accuracy varies by database and network configuration.
Privacy
Your public IP can reveal approximate location and provider. A VPN can hide your real IP. Private LAN addresses (e.g. 192.168.x.x) are not reachable from the public Internet.
